Is there any real difference between the four major superbikes?

The 4 major 1000cc super sport bikes: cbr, r1, ninja, & gsx. They are all within $400 of each other and pretty much look the same. Any real difference here?

  1. Nope, just feel, horsepower is within 10 on all of them... they can handle more than you can, so buy what you like... I'll reccomend Honda, cause it's what i ride, and it's uber reliable..
  2. There are some differences but the biggest is color. I would select the one you sit on that is most comfortable. I am a Suzuki guy but for the street I really like the CBR. It is smooth, lots of power and looks great. I also like the damper for the street. it is a tad heavier because the frame is stronger. This gives it a better ride. Again all are good and all reliable; there is little difference.
  3. Honestly, it is all brand loyalty and which one melts your butter... Me, I'm Suzuki all the way... My buddy is a Kawi dude... And we have a freak of a buddy that is into Yamaha (geesh?)... The only real investment is helmets with two way radios, that is the way to go - over - I see some chicks nailed us with thumbs down... Anyway, your average rider will never ever EVER run an 11 second quart mile EVER. And if they do, it should be on the track and not on the street, for God sake watch out for my mom, sister, wife and daughter - don't be stupid!
  4. There's a world of difference, I don't know what you are talking about, yes, they all follow simmilar trends and are all within hundredths of seconds with eachother for speed and acceleration, but don't consider them all the same, it's like saying all people are the same, yes we all look very similar and perform relatively the same, but does that make us all the same? Each one of those bike has it's own personality, much like people, the ride, the engine, the looks, it all contributes to the "soul" of the bike, so don't just buy a 1000cc ninja because it's the cheapest, and don't think that GSX-R 1000 is the best because they are the most expensive. If your getting one go ride them all, take a good look at them all, and see which one you will get along with best. yes, it's minor differences, but they make up a huge gap when you put them all together, again much like us. For me it was GSX-R 1000, not the best looking girl at the party (R1) but she'll rock your world.
  5. i agree with mag, i just bought a 07 cbr 1000.... Im in love
  6. The difference is in the riders. You have the Kawasaki and three copy cats.
