What is a good Ducati motor bike for rookies?

Just learned how to ride. Less than 4 hours of experience over the last 15 years. I'm 6 feet 2 inches. I weight 213 pounds. I do not want a crotch rocket.

  1. Great bikes, my all time favorite bike is the 996. That said you may wish to start out on a cheaper "learner" bike. Ducs have desmonic valves and are maintenance nightmares but if you are willing to deal with that look at the little monster. If they were not so hard to work on or if they did not require service nearly as often I would have a Duc, god do I lust after those bikes.
  2. not a ducati...lol. just buy a cheap bike and ride more and get used to it. ducatis are the lamborghinis of motorcycles. crazy power, really expensive if something happens, and just to buy it. so just buy something else to start with.
  3. Best go with rice to start, the cheaper the better see the link below for the 250, and check out the 650, if you have the nerve
